Hands-free mobility · Made in Hyderabad

Six weeks non-weight-bearing does not have to mean six weeks on crutches.

SoraStride carries your weight through the back of your thigh instead of your hands. You walk upright, both hands free, up your own stairs — with the injured foot never touching the ground.

Not sure it suits your injury? We will tell you honestly before you buy.

The six-week problem

Crutches do not fail because they are uncomfortable. They fail because they take both your hands.

01

You cannot carry anything

A cup of tea, a plate, a child, a bag of vegetables. Six weeks of asking someone else to carry every single thing you need moved from one room to another.

02

Stairs become a negotiation

Most buildings in India have no lift. On crutches you need the railing and both crutches at once, which you do not have. A knee scooter cannot climb a step at all.

03

Your shoulders take the injury

Weight through the armpits and palms for weeks is why people finish recovery with a shoulder problem they did not start with. The load has to go somewhere.

How it works

The load goes through your thigh, not your hands.

A moulded cuff sits under the back of your thigh and takes your body weight down an aluminium frame to a padded base on the floor. Your knee bends naturally; your shin and foot hang clear of the ground behind you.

The thigh is a far larger and more load-tolerant surface than an armpit or a palm, which is why you can wear it all day and why nothing else has to compensate.

Height adjusts at two points without tools, so it fits under a cast or a walking boot and re-sets in seconds as swelling changes over the first three weeks.

Honest comparison

Every mobility aid puts your weight somewhere. Here is where.

Option Hands free Stairs Weight goes to Sit down wearing it
SoraStride Yes, fully Yes Thigh Yes
Underarm crutches No Difficult, tiring Armpits and hands Must be set aside
Forearm crutches No Needs upper-body strength Forearms and hands Must be set aside
Knee scooter Yes Cannot climb stairs Knee, seated Dismount required
Knee crutch Yes Poor balance on steps Knee, bent 90° Must be removed

A knee crutch and SoraStride are often confused. The difference is where the load sits: a knee crutch asks you to kneel on a pad with the knee bent 90°, which many post-surgical knees cannot do. SoraStride loads the thigh with the knee only lightly flexed.

Is it right for you?

Roughly one enquiry in six should not buy this.

We would rather lose that sale than have someone discover it on day three of a six-week recovery. So here is the honest version, before the price.

SoraStride works for

Foot and ankle fractures · ankle or foot surgery · Achilles rupture and repair · plantar wounds and diabetic ulcers · fusions · below-knee amputation — anything below the knee that needs full offloading, where your other leg is sound.

SoraStride is wrong for

Any injury above the knee, because the cuff loads the thigh directly. Both legs affected, because you need one sound weight-bearing leg. Recent hip surgery — ask your surgeon first, the cuff sits high.

From people who used it

What the six weeks actually looked like

"I run a shop. On crutches I could not stand at the counter or carry stock. SoraStride put me back behind the till in the second week, and I stopped losing money."

Priya R.Hyderabad · ankle surgery, 8 weeks NWB

"Third floor, no lift. Crutches on those stairs genuinely frightened me. With this I go up holding the railing and my hands are free. That was the whole decision."

Arvind K.Secunderabad · tibial fracture

"Awkward on the uneven pavement outside my building, excellent everywhere else. I would still buy it again — but somebody should say that up front."
